THERAPEUTICS | METHYLENE BLUE
Examples of conditions we treat
Carbon Monoxide Poisoning
Cyanide Poisoning
Methemoglobinemia
Senescent Cell Burden
Methylene Blue is mostly known for its antidote-properties in cases of cyanide and/or carbon monoxide poisonings, or for treating a condition called methemoglobinemia. In all of these cases, the battery of the cell called the mitochondria is damaged and stopped from producing energy. Methylene blue instantaneously reverses that damage before cell death and resultant organ damage occurs. At low doses, it can be used for less extreme indications such as anti-aging to similarly increase energy production by facilitating electron transport at the level of the mitochondria.
